Harmonic Thunder Quartet

About us

Based out of Central and Northwest Ohio, "Harmonic Thunder" is a vocal quartet that provides exciting entertainment including multiple genres.  Founded in early 2018, they quickly took the area by storm when they won the Johnny Appleseed District Quartet Championship just a few months after assembling. The quartet then qualified for the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Contest and placed 30th in the world in Salt Lake City.

After a long pandemic, many zoom calls, and eventually recording our debut album, the quartet was able to resume activiites again qualifiying for the BHS International Convention and Contest in Charlotte, NC in the Summer of 2022, but this time finishing 18th in the world as International Semifinalists.

Concerts, Corporate Events, Clubs, Chapter Shows, Birthdays, Weddings, Conventions, Youth Camps, Festivals, etc.  We can create a show that is perfect for your event!

David, by far the prettiest member of the ensemble, is a native of Paulding, OH. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a focus in Sports Management and is currently a data analyst for Nationwide Insurance.  He has been singing barbershop for 17 years, most notably as bass for the 2011 International Collegiate Champs, Prestige. He and hiw wife Sarah reside in Columbus with their two beautiful children.

Kevin, is a Defiance, OH son, born and bred. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Vocal Music Education. He is currently a long term substitute music teacher at Edon Local Schools and is also a director/lead singer of Inside Voices, an award winning a cappella group based out of Bowling Green. Kevin is an active musical theatre performer across northern Ohio, including princapal roles with 3B Productions and Fort Defiance Players   He has been singing barbershop for 7 years, most recently w/ the 2018 4th Place Collegiate Quartet, Roses in Blue.  He may not be as pretty as Dave Parrett, but he stands head and shoulders above him. (He's really, really tall ladies)

Will (Veal) was born, raised, and currently resides in Bowling Green Ohio where he received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Bowling Green State University. For the last few years, he has served as a teacher at Van Buren Local Schools (home of the Black Knights) where he taught grades 6-12 choir, directed an award winning competitive show choir (The Association), led a vocal pop acappella group (Knightlife), ran the musical theater program, and was the assistant director to the Black Knight Marching Band. He recently left the front of the classroom, to return to one himself, returning to Bowling Green State University for this graduate studies. Will is a second generation barbershoper (or barbershop “brat”) and has been singing barbershop since birth ……. constantly …... really, we can’t get him to shut up. He directs The Voices of Harmony barbershop chorus from the Northwest Ohio Chapter and is a Music Judge for the Barbershop Harmony Society. Will hopes to one day be as good looking as Dave Parrett.

Nathan, a native of Lancaster, OH, and the only "non-BG Falcon" in the group, attended Capital University and The Ohio State University for Vocal Music Performance and Choral Conducting and is currently a data analyst for Nationwide Insurance. He is the Artistic Director of the Greater Cleveland Chorus (Sweet Adelines International) . He has been a contracted choralist around Ohio including 20 years with the professional chamber choir, LancasterChorale. Nathan has been singing barbershop for 19 years (member for 10) and is a Singing Judge for the Barbershop Harmony Society and regular chorus and quartet coach around the region.  Nathan has completely given up on ever looking like Dave Parrett, and curses the gods of genetics.
